Car Insurance Infiniti (Car Insurance). alternator or starter problem?

alternator or starter problem? I recently bought a new battery but 2 days ago my truck would not crank over, I got a jump and I drove home fine. Tried to turn on the truck today and no crank over and again got a jump and started. Do I have a problem with the starter or the alternator?

Well if you can jump start the battery and it starts, then the starter is good. Look at the alternator as being your problem, with the engine running, put a volt meter across the battery terminals. The reading should be 13.8 volts to 14.5 volts. Any higher or lower than these figures and you have a bad alternator, unless you have an external voltage regulator, then look into replacing the voltage regulator. Most newer vehicles have the regulator built into the alternator. good luck...... Sounds like a starter problem. I had a Pontiac Grand Am that had that same issue. Wouldn't even crank sometimes. Then with the jump start it would start right up. Sounds like the starter to me at least. Have you had any problems with your power to your lights and horn when your truck acts up like this? Check the alternator by touching the battery terminals with an inexpensive volt meter. If the alternator is charging the battery will test between 13.5 - 14.2 volts with the engine running. Test the battery voltage with the engine off 12 hours after last operating the car to get rid of the residual voltage. A fully charged new battery will test 12.85 volts. Have a *load test done on your "new" battery at any shop that sells them. New batteries are known to bite the dust just like old timers.

Infiniti . What's the cheapest bike to insure for a 16 year old that still meets my requirements?

What's the cheapest bike to insure for a 16 year old that still meets my requirements? I'm 16. I've had my motorcycle license since December 2009, so that would be a year and about 4 months. (This is Oklahoma, you can get a motorcycle license at 14, but I had a late start.) My 17th birthday is in 2 months. I've been driving a car lately, but now I'm wanting to find another bike. However, it has to meet some requirements- it has to be good on the highway, since I live several miles from town and go on the highway almost every day, it has to be smaller than 500cc (not because of ability, just preference, I don't like big engines), and it has to be good on gas- at least 50 mpg. I don't car about the age, I know most people my age want the newest, coolest thing; personally, I don't care. I'd drive some 1963 rust-bucket so long as it ran. I'm just looking for the cheapest bike to insure for my age that still meets those requirements. car insurance.

Infiniti . How to Adjust the Height of a Clutch Pedal

Adjusting the height of your car's clutch pedal is not nearly as complex at it may seem. All you need to make the desired adjustments is a set of metric open-ended wrenches, a 12-inch ruler and a flashlight. Once you adjust the pedal stop bolt (or cruise control switch), all you have to do is adjust the push rod so there is enough play in the pedal. With the right instruction, you can adjust your clutch pedal to the perfect height desired.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Metric open-ended wrenches
Flashlight
12-inch ruler

Step by Step :
1
Use the appropriate-sized wrench to loosen the adjusting bolt (cruise control switch), which will raise the pedal up to the desired height. Seven inches is the standard size for many vehicles by default.
2
Adjust the clevis pin's free play by adjusting the push rod located behind the pedal. Use your flashlight if you are unable to see the rod clearly. Loosen the lock nut on the push rod with the wrench until you have the desired pedal play without pushing in the rod. Re-tighten the adjustment bolt you loosened in the last step
3
Check to verify the pedal's free play is at the desired level. The amount of free play before hitting any resistance is often set to .04 to .12 inches. If you are not happy with the level of free play, repeat steps one and two again as necessary, until you get it right.
4
Check to see the pedal releases (or reaches its disengagement point), after 2.76 inches or more. The disengagement point is when the pedal loses its resistance once released from the firewall to its default position. Repeat steps one through four to get the desired height and functionality of the clutch if you are not content with the first attempt.
Tips & Warnings
Although these steps were based off the Eclipse's clutch adjustment procedure, clutches can be configured by making the appropriate settings with the adjustment bolt (or locknut) and push rod.

The process of adjusting the clutch's height may vary slightly, depending on make and model of your vehicle.

Infiniti . How to Adjust the Clutch Pedal on a Honda Accord

The Honda Accord didn't arrive stateside until the mid-1970s, yet it is now considered one of the most reliable vehicles on the road today, and certainly one of the more ubiquitous. If your model has a five-speed manual transmission you might have to readjust the clutch pedal periodically. This can be done in a few steps.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Open the hood to check the level of clutch fluid. There are two reservoirs (similar to your brake fluid reservoir, only smaller) on the passenger's side of the engine bay near the firewall. The clutch fluid is in the second of the two. Add more fluid if you notice that it is below the recommended level.
2
Check to see if the reservoir is leaking. If so, you will likely have to replace it. Bleed the clutch system to expel any air bubbles. Have someone push down on the clutch pedal several times while doing this.
3
Adjust the clutch pedal to Honda specifications, which can be found in your owner's manual. The pedal's adjuster can be found by the pedal point, where the pedal meets the master cylinder. Adjust your clutch by turning the adjusting nut clockwise using a wrench or pair of pliers. Test the pedal each time to determine whether you need to make any further adjustments.

pedal, fluid goes from the master cylinder into the brake lines, and then, when you release the pedal, the fluid flows back into the master cylinder. Essentially, when you check your master cylinder, you're looking to make sure that you have enough brake fluid. If your vehicle has anti-lock brakes (ABS), consult your owner's manual before checking the master cylinder. Failure to do so may result in under- or overfilling the reservoir. And remember that some anti-lock systems are under extreme pressure. To check the brake fluid in your master cylinder, follow these steps: 1. Open the top of your master cylinder. 818 Car Insurance ford mustang 2006 204786

2. Take a look at the lid. Attached to the inside surface of a metal master cylinder is a rubber diaphragm with two rubber cups (see Figure 18-3). Caps on plastic reser voirs have them, too. As the brake fluid in your master cylinder recedes (when it's forced into the brake lines), the diaphragm cups are pushed down by air that comes in through vents in the lid. The rubber cups descend and touch the surface of the remaining brake fluid, to prevent evaporation and to keep the dust and dirt out. When the fluid flows back in, the rubber cups are pushed back up.

Be sure to read the "Flushing and Changing Brake Fluid" section in this chapter to ensure that you buy the proper kind. Also remember to close the master cylinder and the brake fluid container as quickly as possible so that oxygen or water vapor in the air doesn't contaminate the fluid. A low brake fluid level may not mean anything if it's been a long time since any fluid was added, and if your car has been braking properly.
